Reminds me of the Memorial to the Warsaw Uprising in ...Warsaw. I don't believe that those of us who weren't there/here can truly appreciate how unbelievably awful it was. On a related topic, saw 'The Reader' the other night, harrowing and moving.
Never, never to be forgotten. I'm reading 'i will plant you a lilac tree - a memoir of a Schindler's list survivor' Laura Hillman (born Hennelore Wolff) in northwest Germany - horrible, horrible and something that must be told. She lives in Los Alamitos, CA - near Long Beach. The relief is so well done.
