Dropped

A
Tear:
A world
Inside which
I would lose myself,
Translucent ocean of grief,
Its fluxes dictated by its own moons, chimeras.

I
Want
To drown
In that world;
Lost in its currents,
To glide, drift, caressing that cheek,
Fall – dizziest moment – coming to rest on her breast.

To
Lick
The salt,
Taste the brine
Bitter with sorrow,
Forbidden dreams, sunken mermaids:
A whole world in torment, crying, calling in its sleep.

I
Must
Confess
This to you:
I feel no desire
To quench those tears, to lift her soul.
Those lips may murmur endearments but the heart smiles, still.

I am thinking of a song that may not be, "A tear falls."

Basking in misery here?
Or voice/thoughts of the other woman?

I will throw you [eng]

To drown in another's tears, to be in that world--this is poignant and difficult. Paradoxical, to feel it and be it yet in some way be a world away.

I really enjoyed looking at the shape of this poem and your carefully thought-out placement of each line. The subject matter is very touching.

I did a shape poem this week also.

Tears can be an ocean of sorrow, but also capable of cleansing one's soul.

I loved this. And the texture and movement of the tear in the photo is a perfect pairing for your poignant words.

Biber's lachrymose music perfectly fits your shape poem.
