S for Spigot

The spigot on my great grandmother's samovar is a tad grumpy...

As long as the tea tastes all right...

Grumpy shmumpy, you're lucky to have such an old family samovar.
Where is it from?
This is my first time to see the bottom heating part.

Not sure, Dina. The other silverware I have from her was French, so it might come from Christophle as the rest of the stuff did but she and her husband got married in Izmir back when it was still called Smyrna, so maybe it was done locally.

Unfortunately the burner does not work anymore so I can only use it as a flower vase. Maybe it is better for the quality of my tea...

It's beautiful, though! Working or not. Gorgeous detail on the turn-handle and spout. Wow!

He just looks grumpy because he hasn't had his tea yet today.
