Q for Quincunx



QUINCUNX

noun
Five objects arranged so that four are at the corners of a square or rectangle and the fifth is at its centre.

The recipe did not call for butter
To be placed in a quincunx
But it just felt
Right.

Ah - a new word! Lovely!!

So a quincunx is the pattern on a die, or a playing card. I shall try to remember that one.
