It's a nice sagra indeed. The only thing is that the waters of the lake which is used for irrigation are polluted and can't be used for the time being, so the fragoline are actually coming from the area of Naples instead! They are still nice though.

I concur - totally. There is something extra special about the seasons first strawberries, even if, in our case, they come from Spain.
How many years has it been since I last had whipped cream? (sigh)

Try to visit the "Sagra delle fragole di Nemi", first Sunday in June (Lago di Nemi is not far from Rome, in the Castelli romani area).
Look out for fragole di bosco, fragolette, they are exquisite (albeit expensive, but worth every cent).
