Are you trying to tell me something? Is this a coded message? BUT, I've only lost 10 kilos. I need to drop another 10 - really!

Something well worth thinking about. I have a friend who says, "the food will be there later; you don't have to eat it all now." Excellent point. These days I wonder how long it will be true.

Well said - and thanks for introducing me to Thea Gilmore.

What an interesting take on the prompt. Good points to ponder too.

A diet of choice is always prefered to one that is forced by lack of food.

Enjoyed this take on the prompt.

I like how you linked two interpretations of the prompt!

Thoughtful poem with a strong message to remind us of the poor of this world. Reminds me of my visit to the dietician after learning I was "pre-diabetic." She saw my dismay at having to accept dietary limits and told me how much better off I was than someone with liver damage -- now THAT's limited diet.

A good reminder --- and a very thoughtful poem.

Nothing wrong with simple, Spacelaw, but I sometimes feel out of place, when everyone else is so complex.

Provocative post. Nicely done!

How true. How many people in the First World have ever been hungry for more than a few hours?

BTW, once I came upon a spoon in the muddy goat path in the woods and posted on "a spoon in the road." :)

Wonderful! That really hits home.
I do have our Adi on a diet, a pretty strict one. So she doesn't have a choice.
She gets one fourth cup of Senior dog food four times a day, Blue Bell Vanilla Lite ice cream at bed time when we have ours, and small snacks for being good.

Like a rock and a hard place, choice.

This was a bundle of complexity wrapped in simplicity...the stuff of avatars...

Thank you!

Good point! We are so fortunate to have the choice. Another one to think more about.
