clever clever - using the photo of intermeshed leaves as a clue: maybe the ghost is the space between the leaves; and at the same time, the space is also the dark labyrinth. And all of it is capped by the ice coffin - not shown here, in this, a sort of x-ray.
Winter has that effect. I noticed yesterday when I was out walking in it that so much of frozen is just entombed in the air. It's amazing. Somehow the seasons coalesce in these images.
Your photo is mesmerizing! It is difficult to discern whether they are leaves or ice crystals. Very well done. I confess, it makes me all the gladder that I no longer live in New England!
..since summer is such a lovely season the ghost ought to be friendly too-perhaps no exorcisms required- but can't forget to mention that really liked ur other poem @ kitehorse-
"Melody drowned Tap tap of water bonga Clouds dwindle and go" -for both of these ..many thanks..
interesting poem-- I am supposing that the summer ghost will find it's way out of the labyrinth as the icy coffin melts...so, we can breathe easier, it will be summer again!
Brrrrrr...where have all the flowers gone. Indeed, I always sort of dread seeing the dying of the green leaves of summer as winter comes in with a blast of cold air which blows the dried leaves to the ground until a new birth in the spring. You really nailed this cold coffin well.

As kitehorse says, loved the effect created by the leaves..
golden freeze
Leaves or ice crystals? A mysterious dark poem with a sunny title. Alluring!
"A Winter Ice Coffin"-That's certainly what it's like in Boston right now!I can't wait till Summer.
Excellent poem.
Frost on my window actually. They are pretty leaves too. And flowers.
Yes, summer's certainly wrapped up in a cold sheet at present.
You couldn't have mated this better ... visual/mental images ... darkness used in such a sweet way.

The best of both seasons. Lovely.
Very nice; I know many see winter as a kind of death...

Winter haunted by summer-- wonderful!
Wonderful description! That's what it felt like in the storm we had last night - big drifts like a coffin of ice/snow. Great imagery!
we're not iced in here in coastal north carolina, but why does winter feel like a coffin on some days??
the text is hard to read in the photo but i think this is appropriate given it's about a lost ghost. i like the last line: winter ice coffin.
interesting poem--

Lovely image--summer day ghost.
That photo is fabulous. What an inspiraion. I love the haiku, in a chilling way, that is.
I love the photo, and the poem, and the way the two complement each other.
