Not the thing to say to a French/Italian ..... I don't like olives. However, I love olive-oil and cook with it a lot. We grow olives here in Australia too.
Many people do not like olives but it is often a matter of finding the right ones. How they are prepared is extremely influential. These were just salted and were very mild of taste. Pickled or roasted ones are entirely different.

Believe it or not, I've never tried an olive. The smell irritates me, so I've never taken the plunge.
