Assertiveness: what I'm lacking at the moment. I just get overwhelmed thinking that life is like the sand; changing all the time and never the same. This week these poems are sad to me. Lovely and sad.
The first strikes a cord with me. I have always considered myself a survivor, but never entertained the notion of having been obstinate or assertive. Your poem realized this for me. Thank you for this.
photos and ku are beautiful... i love the desert and the two topics reflect well the environment.. the trails left by animals in the sand have always been a mystery to me... how do plants surviv w/little water...??

I like both. However, the second has greater impact.
pinpricks
The sand imagery makes me think of the impermanence of life as well as of tragedy. Very effective. Thanks.

Love the "tradegies written in sand". Very nice.
Shifting sands; we are constantly adjusting to life's changes, aren't we?
Beautiful pix and haiku! Thanks for sharing your creative abilities! :D

Oh I love them both and those pictures are wonderful!
you've really captured the essence of a desert experience
Truly marvelous, both of them. I love the forcefulness of the first.
I love the use of the word obstination. It actually threw me for a moment. Thank God for dictionaries.
Very nicely done. The greater reflected in the microcosm. I can really connect with the second.
